Nosferatu: Dark Angel
Nosferatu is a great example of a second-wave British goth rock band that got active right at the peak of grunge in the States. Their guitar and drums were amped up way above most goth bands of that era, and the guitarist had a style of playing that was much closer to metal than new wave. This is definitely a band I like to hear when I want to hear some grungy goth.
This is from their first album, Rise, released in 1993. This band is still around, but not in the form it was back then. Only the founding lead guitarist, Damien DeVille, remains. He's probably my favorite member of the band, anyway, based purely on sound and my reason for liking them in the first place. These guys make goth rock look like a fun endeavor.
